Omnyx
Envisioning the future of collaboration in digital pathology
This was an eight-month project to design the collaboration workflow for the Omnyx digital pathology system. Our team of 6 HCI masters students conducted user research, designed and developed a high-fidelity prototype proposing a design that overcomes the limitations of traditional pathology.
We conducted observations and contextual inquiries with 13 pathologists, and conducted 6 rounds of usability testing using paper prototypes, a mid-fidelity prototype using HTML/JavaScript and Flash, and a hi-fidelity prototype implemented with Expression Blend.
Due to the nature of the project, we are not able to disclose any details about our final design. This is an ongoing project for Omnyx and our design solutions may be incorporated into their final products.
INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTION
All team members were involved in the research, ideation and design phase of
the project. As the technical lead, I led the prototype planning and development and also highly contributed to developing design concepts into detailed feature specifications.
